Cat hilariously won’t stop stealing neighbors’ shoes

There’s a burglar in the neighborhood but no one is panicking. That’s because the thief behind the missing items isn’t the kind you’d want behind bars, and the items aren’t the usual targets for burglaries.

It’s a cuddly, six-pound cat that looks like it’s just begging to be picked up, hugged, and smothered with kisses.

The cat’s name is Jordan and he’s notorious for collecting shoes that are left on doorsteps. He actually walks up to 7 miles every night just to collect shoes!

Jordan’s owner, BJ Ross of Altoona, Pennsylvania shares that there are already 50 pairs of shoes at home.

What’s even more hilarious about Jordan’s antics is how he makes sure all shoes come in pairs. If he comes home with just one shoe, he makes sure to bring back the missing pair the following night.

No, Jordan isn’t in trouble but BJ knew something had to be done. She decided to do two things: put a GPS tracker on the cat, and create a Facebook group.

BJ used the group to initially alert the neighbors about the furry burglar. It did help but it also skyrocketed Jordan to fame!

The group actually gets about 2,000 member requests in a week. Apparently, even those who aren’t from the area want to stay updated on Jordan’s shoe-stealing journey. In the Facebook group description, BJ wrote,

“If y’all know my cat Jordan, y’all know he loves to bring me home shoes! Yes you read it. This tiny little cat drags me home one, two, three shoes. Every night! Last year, he brought me dead mice, live snakes, dead and live birds, garbage including an empty chip bag and a rubber glove. This past January I started noticing shoes would show up in my yard. I thought nothing of it and would throw them away.”

She continued:

“As this progresses over the months, my mom suggested I keep the shoes to find the owners. Well. 37 shoes later, I have no idea where he gets them. I put a GPS tracker in him last night and thought… he deserves his own group.”

Because of the GPS tracker, BJ was able to determine that Jordan actually travels far and wide for shoes, and makes multiple visits to the same houses in order to have complete pairs ready for his owner. The camera BJ installed also caught Jordan in the act.

Not a single neighbor reacted negatively to the news of a cat burglar doing away with shoes and slippers. In fact, they’ve grown to love him more.

BJ’s Facebook group also makes it easy for the neighbors to get their shoes back. She regularly posts photos of the footwear and the owners just message her when they see theirs. Who knew a thief could bring so much good vibes to everyone, even those he’s victimized?
