It’s easy to forget just how connected humans and animals really are. After all, we’re part of the animal kingdom too! But sometimes, a video comes along that reminds us how similar we really are to the other animals who share planet Earth with us.

This video of a gorilla and little boy is the perfect example of that.

The Colombus Dispatch posted a video a few years ago that is sure to make you laugh! When little Isaiah met Kamoli, it’s hard to imagine that the world didn’t feel that strange “closeness” with nature!

Isaiah is a boy that went on a trip to the zoo with his parents – nobody expected this to happen!

Isaiah is a 2 1/2-year-old boy who went with his parents to the Colombus Zoo when something pretty remarkable happened. Whether you’re a little boy or an adult, there are few things more exciting than seeing the animals at the park!

After this trip, however, Isaiah probably has a new favorite animal!

When Isaiah went to the gorilla exhibit, he made a new friend.

Kamoli is a baby gorilla that lives at the Columbus Zoo.

When Isaiah went to the glass at the gorilla exhibit, it was Kamoli that greeted him! Almost immediately, the two had a connection. It’s almost like kids on a playground, acknowledging that they will be best friends forever!

Using a language that apparently all kids know (even gorilla kids), the two started playing games!

Despite the glass barrier, Isaiah and Kamoli couldn’t help themselves!

They immediately recognized that, as kids, they needed to play with one another. Isaiah gets up on the barrier, and the two start having a blast.

All of a sudden, Kamoli comes up with a game idea.

In the middle of the glass barrier is a fake tree. Using that tree to block vision, Kamoli runs back and forth while Isaiah chases him around, trying to see him! It’s a gorilla’s version of hide-and-seek!

Amid shrieks of laughter from Isaiah, the two play their game like long lost brothers.

Gorillas have incredible intelligence, and play is an important part of learning!

Like human children, playing games are hugely important for the development of little gorillas.

“Play is an important part of a young gorilla’s day. Playing is healthy behavior for youngsters and is an important role in gorilla development. Play has great social value for them, as they learn how to interact with others and also form and reinforce bonds that may be useful later on.” – Gorilla Fund

Without playing, humans and gorillas alike wouldn’t understand their limits, develop certain bonds, or interact with the world around them correctly!

Even though these two friends are a different species, it’s a good reminder for us all.

Everybody and everything that inhabits that planet is connected, and videos like this show just how deep those connections go. It’s wonderful to see how young Isaiah plays with the gorilla. We’re sure he’s going to remember this moment forever.
